Earth Sisters began as a small grassroots gathering hosted on the bush property where founder Sarah Maclagan and her partner Paul live at Sandy Beach on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
The first gatherings were intimate, invitation-only weekends where a group of women came together to share food, stories, music, workshops and time in nature. What emerged was something both simple and powerful - a space of genuine connection, creativity and mutual support.
Over the following years the gathering grew organically through word of mouth. Each year more women expressed interest in participating, offering workshops and contributing their skills and ideas.
As the community continued to expand, it became clear that Earth Sisters had the potential to reach a wider circle of women. To support this next stage of growth, the festival has now moved to a larger venue and transitioned into a not-for-profit incorporated association.
While the scale of the event has grown, the original spirit remains the same - a welcoming, collaborative gathering shaped by the women who attend.
